Reports Report 3168dq (Event 3168-2026)

Observer
Name Hillary W
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I did not see the fireball itself--there was very light cloud cover (light enough that the near full moon was clearly visible through it). I witnessed a series of very bright flashes--bright as lightning, but more localized (possibly diffused by the light cloud cover) and brighter than the moon. It was very brief, around 1-1.5 seconds. It occurred at 12:10AM, 4/29/26, + or - 5min. I checked the weather and didn't see any reports of lightning in the area, and couldn't find any information from news outlets suggesting some other event that might explain the phenomenon.
