Reports Report 3168eh (Event 3168-2026)

Observer
Name Cody T
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks I was sitting on a park bench smoking marijauna with two friends, one of them was our sober driver and we all saw it so i know it wasnt a hallucination. I only thought to check the time after the inital wow feeling passed, and it was 12:14am (midnight) so the time I put is an estimate. The next morning I did a google search the next morning for "shooting star richmond bc" and saw a dashcam video on youtube posted that evening and another doorbell cam video in a subreddit that showed the same event, same colors, same tragectory etc. The dashcam footage was from Burnaby (~40 min drive away) and it was slightly bigger and brighter. The Doorbell cam video was from Nanaimo, (probably 2 hours drive and 2 hour ferries boat ride away) and the fire ball lit up the whole sky, was huge and seemed to be impacting in the area because it was just so big in the sky. What an insane experience, especially while being high on a celebratory night i definetely will never forget. If you have any questions feel free to email because I really am so interested by what happened.

Concurrent Sound
Observation No
Remarks -
Delayed Sound
Observation Yes
Remarks very faint thud sound approx 5 seconds after it disappeared behind the treeline. The best way i can describe it is how a concert speaker feels (like that vibration booming) but without the sound, just for only a few miliseconds. almost like when you yawn and theres a change in pressure, however faint that sound would be.
Persistent train
Observation Unknown
Duration -
Length -
Remarks -
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks When it came into view it was just like a star, just a bright dot flying thriugh the sky. a second before it was out of view there was a bright flash where for a moment you could see this trail of light behind it, almost how the aurora borealis looks on camera, but as a bright trail behind the fire ball.
Fragmentation
