Reports Report 3168eu (Event 3168-2026)

Observer
Name Elaine C
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks The brightness was extraordinary. Not as bright as daylight, but not even comparable to moonlight. The comparison that came to mind was stadium floodlights being turned on. The emanating light shining on the trees and houses cast everything in a golden glow. I don't know if I filled out the specs accurately, as I have no field of experience for that, but I can say that I looked north and it was moving from the northeast across my field of view.

Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks There was a sudden flash like stadium floodlights being turned on - lighting the neighbourhood completely. Then the light diminished and I could see a meteor with a wide defined ball at the front and a thick line of light continuing behind. My memory tells me it was a golden hue fading to white. I have seen meteor showers before. Those look like thin pale lines. This was a thick bright sparkling line.
