Reports Report 3644bg (Event 3644-2026)

Observer
Name Joe R
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks Looked up and saw what looked like a skyrocket (fireworks) moving sort of towards me. Moving NW to SE. About 8:20 PM, roughly. Sun was setting and western sky was red, but still enough daylight to see clearly. Not dark/night yet. Sky had alto-cumulus clouds and the object appeared to be below them, which is what caught my attention. No sound. No explosion. Bright green head changing color in the tail to yellow – orange – red. Head to tail was probably about as long as your thumb held at arm's distance. It did not appear to be moving fast at all, which also surprised me. Probably lasted a good 3 to 4 seconds. Did not fragment. Did not leave a trail. Just sort of burnt out. If this was a fireball, it is the weirdest one I have ever seen based on the time of day and the speed, though in all other ways it did look like other meteors I have seen. Been observing now for over 60 years. Thank you.
