| Remarks | The flash caught my attention. When I looked up, I saw a bright object moving behind the cloud, high in the sky, going from WSW toward NEN. It was basically headed for zenith, but stopped (or was lost in cloud) before. Then, about 1m 30s to 2m later I heard a distinct single boom. Not like thunder at all, but quite sharp, and lasted perhaps 1/2 - 3/4 s. I've observed many fireballs in the past, but this is the first time I've heard a boom following one. The timing is from UKMON cameras, at least two of which caught the event. |
