Reports Report 314h (Event 314-2014)

Observer
Name Lori W
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks This caught my eye as I was standing talking to a friend. The brightness and speed was significant - enough to know it wasn't an airplane or jet. It was moving in a very straight line traveling upwards. Just as it was almost overhead, it burst apart into fragments - at least 2-3 were large visible red in appearance, quickly fading out. Several smaller fragments that all radiated outwards - they didn't appear to follow the main trajectory. They went dark very quickly - in a fraction of a second.

Remarks Saw it break apart into several fragments, there was a reddish glow around the fragments. It was quite spectacular. It was almost, but not quite overhead when it broke up - there was a brief flash at the moment it broke up, followed by seeing fragments - maybe 4-5 visible pieces, 2-3 of them looking fairly large. It went dark quickly after.
