My location is extremely approximate, I was a passenger in a vehicle moving northeast when the object appeared in the sky. The object burned brightly and I initially thought it was venus until I realized the object was traversing quickly and leaving a trail that suddenly became wider and brighter until the object ultimately flashed and disappeared along with its trail
