I was looking in that same area of the sky at 5:15 am EDT and then I looked away when I looked back I saw the object. It was not a plane, there were now blinking lights and the sky was dark but the contrails were very bright as you can see in the video. Oddly, when I saw it the contrails only appeared a short distance behind the object and as the object continued it appeared the contrails were longer and longer. With that in mind I am not sure if it was coming toward my location directly and suddenly turned exposing the contrails or if it suddenly appeared somehow masked from view. The former does not seem possible because as bright as it was it was not visible in that part of the sky just moments earlier. I am at a loss and of course it is entirely possible I just missed it when I first looked in that direction. It was very bright. in the video I panned up to the moon to show how bright it was in comparison to the moon. Thanks |
