Remarks | I was staring at bright Mars which was still easily visible in the west-southwest sky just 25 minutes before sunrise. A bright green light appeared to the right of Mars and appeared to move slowly down and to the right. At first I thought it might be the starboard navigation light of an aircraft, but the direction of travel would indicate a steep nose down attitude and there was no sound. The light was visible for about 3-5 seconds. It was brighter than Mars, but not as bright as Venus which was visible to the east. The apparent distance traveled was very short, so it must have been moving almost directly towards (or away) from me if it was moving fast. |
