Reports Report 1557h (Event 1557-2014)

Remarks Yes, I couldn't input my exact location to the best of my ability because I could not get the 'little man' icon to move on the map. I thought for sure the meteor or missile or whatever it was would be landing somewhere in the Langley area of Va, or possibly Bethesda, Md ,or possibly even Washington D.C. Of course, the whole thing took me completely by surprise, and I was driving South/East on the Beltway (i.e., I was traveling from Md towards Tysons Corner, Va), and I believe I was probably about a mile or less PAST the Great Falls exit on I-495. I suddenly saw the fireball in my peripheral vision to the far left of me, and I saw it travel a little ways before it looked like it would have hit the ground likely somewhere as I indicated above and within the next second or two. It was either light yellow or bright yellow as I seem to recall, but I'm not sure, but it was definitely in the brilliant light category, and nothing other than white/yellow. I had just seen on tv some missiles being shot into Israel, and thought it might even have been a missile, since it was SO, SO much bigger than any shooting star I have ever seen -- not anywhere near even in the same category of a regular shooting star. I was so excited I even called my sister-in-law and asked her to watch the news to see if she would hear anything about what it was on the late evening news. Which also reminds, I am only guessing about the time that I saw it, and the more I think about it, since I wanted her to watch the news, it may well have been because I didn't think I would be back home in Reston in time to catch the 11:00pm news for myself (approx. 10-15 miles away). I might be able to reconstruct the exact time IF it is really important for me to do so, but my cell phone itself does not keep records so far back. However, I do know that I called my sister in law immediately after I saw the fireball, so PERHAPS the cell phone company could locate records stating what time I placed the call.
