Reports Report 2060a (Event 2060-2014)

Observer
Name Lori O
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks I have seen a lot of "falling stars", meteor showers and even Halley's comet but I have never seen anything as big, bright, "close", and colorful as this. I was driving west at the time up an access road to boundary peak (the road begins 100 yds after intersection of 264 and 773.) I was at about 7500' elevation when I saw it. Not sure exactly how many miles up maybe 12. it was traveling the California Nevada border. The fireball/shooting star/meteor was plain as day as I saw it through my front windshield, so the origin degree is hard to determine as I saw it when it entered my line of sight while driving. I had time to stop the car to continue watching it before it disappeared. It was very late, around midnight, I was by myself. I apologize that I am unclear on my exact location, I was a bit lost looking for a trailhead, there is a possibility that my directions are off. I now know that I need to pay attention to that stuff but by the sounds of things it's not something you see very often.
