Remarks | Sitting at desk on 39th floor of apartment building facing due south. Noticed large bright blue/white object falling almost directly down, to the right (i.e., west) of the Chicago skyline. Object had a yellow-ish, fire-y tail. At first, I thought it was a shooting star, but after a second, I realized it was much too large. From my vantage, the object sudenly disappeared at about halfway "down" the height of the Willis (i.e., Sears) Tower. Lasted perhaps 3-4 seconds. I've never seen anything like it. Immediately started googling online to see if anyone else had seen it but couldn't find any accounts. The color was almost the same color one sees during when an electric grid blows out and flashes, but this was less green and more blue. |
