We were westbound on the 10 freeway merging on to the 405 when a light appeared overhead. I thought it was a plane but then it picked up speed and got brighter. It then had a small flash and then disappeared. It started off white and then became greenish/bluish. The path was as long as 1/3 of my windshield in relative distance, top to bottom.
