Remarks I was driving north on Carleton Ave at about 6:35 when I saw a bright, streaking light pass right over and above the car. I thought it might have been a Roman candle firework but the angle wasn't right -heading downward with intense brightness and something just seemed unique about it. I joked with my daughters that I think I saw a meteorite pass over and land just east of the road somewhere. Sure enough the next day I saw that someone in Islip reported seeing it on Facebook so I knew I wasn't crazy.
