Remarks I often sit out on nights weather permitting as I live in a remote part of the Pennines so its ideal for spotting stars etc ...very dark sky ...but I was in a loading shovel with a glass roof so seeing this first I thought it was a plane ''jet fighters ''..then I realised what it was so watched it pass over usually they are quick streaks and gone in a split second but this was different as it got brighter till it flashed then broke up into bits and headed ground wards just a bove the moor wall ''2 fields away '' I recon its rough area of impact would have been some where between richmond and barnard castle maybe nearer to me but I have seen one many years ago in day light headed in from the east heading west .a smoky fire ball and it was thought to have landed some where near hamsterley forest ..but it was lower in the sky when first sighted then this was this seemed to be coming in on a steeper angle almost straight above and the a 150 degree sweep down till destruction above horizon ..well worth being out working late to see one so good
