I live 1/2 mile from Pioneer peak and was letting my dog outside and looking right at the mountain when it went between the peak and a smaller ridge straight down in front of me so I have a really good idea where it's at. It won't be easy to get to by any means and may have been buried in a slide area but I have a minelab detector with a 42'' coil. Hopefully it landed in a soft spot like I think it did. I expected to hear a big boom but didn't hear a strike so maybe it's in good shape and not radioactive .
I wasn't sure who to tell about a meteor strike and just found this site about fireballs.

Observation
Yes
Remarks
Sparks or small pieces coming off before it went in front of pioneer peak but behind another ridge straight down. Had to have hit the ground though I heard nothing. May have been smaller than a basketball with a large fireball.
