Reports Report 1348b (Event 1348-2015)

Observer
Name Michael C
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks At first, I thought it was a firework traveling sideways, but immediately realized that it was a fireball/meteor and was not a firework. I am certain that it was not a firework or aircraft, but indeed a fireball/meteor. I have seen fireballs/meteors before, but never one this bright and it appeared to be rather close as compared to other ones I have seen in the past. I will monitor the local news and here to follow up on this...hope others saw it as well.

Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 1s
Length 10°
Remarks The train appeared as slight glowing white smoke (not green like the fireball) and was behind the fireball the entire time, but quickly disappeared 1-2 seconds after the fireball disappeared.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks The fireball only lasted a total of 3-5 seconds. At first it just looked like a streak across the sky, but then glowed bright green with a train of glowing white smoke behind it. It continually glowed brighter for the last 2-3 seconds of its flight and then the fireball and train both disappeared. There was not any fragmentation from what I saw and no sound. I am very sure the fireball was traveling approximately due North.
Fragmentation
