| Remarks | Object appeared suddenly, midway above horizon; disappeared behind tall trees in woods after 1 - 2 seconds. Antares was largest, brightest star closest to object. Object was approx. 5 times larger than Antares, but not significantly brighter. Saturn also visible nearby, although not as bright as Antares. Clear skies, good visibility. My orientation was facing South. Trajectory of object was almost straight down. |
