Remarks | Brightest thing I've seen since the Oct 12, 2012 fireball which I saw from Emeryville, and turned out to be a meteor that landed in Novato. I was outside looking at the night sky for the ISS, which my email alert had told me was going to fly over at 7:27. Sure enough, maybe 2 or 3 minutes after this fireball, this ISS tracked across the exact same swath of sky from our vantage, I'm glad it didn't get hit!! |

Terminal flash | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | Brilliantly bright, pale green, round flash, though it wasn't exactly terminal, the white steak continued in the same straight line heading down towards the horizon, almost due south. |
Fragmentation | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | There weren't multiple streaks, so it may have been skipping instead of fragmentation, but the steak varied in thickness/intensity, with moments of being a dashed line. |
