Remarks I think this was a meteor . It was close enough to see the side of it and the fire that was in the rock . It would be like you were standing about 2 thousand yards away from a greyhound bus. that was just about the size of it . I was headed towards Augusta ,it was about 2am all of a sudden I could see the grass side the road and the leaves on the trees . I thought there was someone coming up behind me , I looked in my rear view mirror and saw nothing . I slowed to a stop rather fast and I looked out my drivers side window , the sky got a little brighter and that's when I saw this massive rock go sailing by , it was silent other than the cracking of fire in two spots on it . one area in the front and one in the back. I tried to report this long ago but had no luck finding a place to do it . im 62 now and I wanted to let someone know of what I saw that night , and by the way , the night was clear no clouds that I can remember . its something I will never forget .
