Remarks | It was a very horizontal traverse, just above eye level. I had just summited a small, mostly bare hill when it caught my eye. Not sure how long it had been going before I noticed it. Time I gave and start position are based on my viewing only. Could have missed the beginning. It went behind a tree and didn't emerge, though its track left the impression it would have emerged. Initially appeared like a very bright, very fast moving airplane or jet. Before the tail appeared, I was struggling to understand it as what kind of airplane could be moving this fast. For a meteor, in may experience anyway, it moved really slowly. This is why I thought it was a plane, at first. All meteors I have ever seen were much smaller, and lightning fast. |

Remarks | lava-lamp-looking tail appeared halfway through its traverse. At start I just thought is was an exceptionally bright jet airplane, then the tail appeared. |
