| Remarks | An airplane was in the same portion of the sky a few seconds later (LaGuardia Airport is nearby). My husband remarked that observers there should have seen the same event that I report here. |

| Remarks | The streak brightened along its short arc, terminated in a distinct bright blob-like flash, which was visible only for a moment. I did not perceive any fragmentation. The sky was dark, I saw only white, heard nothing. This was in New York City, not far from a major highway, and there is always some traffic noise. |
