Reports Report 340gd (Event 340-2016)

Observer
Name Tim W
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks Maybe I should have answered "1" to the previous question, because i have very little experience "observing" meteor showers, but I have great deal of interest in and a fair bit of knowledge about stars, planets, and other celestial objects and events, but no astronomer by any means. This was a very bright and striking event. I know almost the exact time of the event because I called my wife to tell her at 18:17 right after it happened, so it was definitely not later than that.

Observation Yes
Remarks It was bright white going from right to left where I was looking, then got very bright and turned orange with a bright flash when it ended (I included light yellow in the color for that question, but that would have been only for a split second before it went from white to orange; it was mostly white, with orange in the flash). By the way, for the above question on a persistent train, it did leave a train, but only for a second or two, and not really after it disappeared, so I didn't know whether to answer yes or no. For the question below, I assume fragmentation means that I saw pieces going in different directions such as with fireworks?? I don't really remember, but I don't think so-- just seemed like a flash but I wasn't paying attention to that kind of detail. I was actually kind of in shock because I've never seen any meteor anywhere near this bright!
