Remarks I occasionally watch for meteors during summer nights or days of advertised meteor showers. This was a much brighter event, with a somewhat lingering, larger diameter, brighter tail, and a large, bright "head" just before and at the time of "terminal explosion".

Remarks The fireball increased in size along its trajectory, reaching its largest diameter at the end, with rapid increase in diameter ("terminal explosion") followed by flameout.

Remarks Right before, during, and perhaps immediately after the "terminal explosion" there were some apparent small fragments, but the fireball remained basically intact to the end.
