| Remarks | My vantage point was high was I was heading on the freeway, elevated over a freeway below. Ahead I was seeing the Whittier/Rose Hills area hills/mountains. The flash was large and close, and had a white vapor like trail... (I realize that was an optical illusion). It appeared as if it was going to crash into the mountain. I honestly thought for a second that we were in trouble with a meteor or space junk falling to earth...that is how close it "seemed". I've seen shooting stars, far away, flashing across the sky. This was very different. Very white, bright and close. Exciting and startling at the same time! |
