| Remarks | The time may have been closer to 6:30 p.m. To give an estimate of the size and closeness that it appeared, if I held out my arm and made a circle with thumb and forefinger, that's how big it appeared approx. 1,500 feet away just above the tree line. I saw the big, bright light that appeared to not move 2-3 seconds, got brighter, then a streaked southward like a shooting star with a little bright tail. The tail was 6 times the thickness of a perseid tail and very bright, going at least 2 hand widths before it seemed to disappear. There were no other stars out. Internet had no mention of meteor shower that night. I'd have reported it earlier, but it wasn't until today that a friend said it made the news so I googled and found your sight. That was very awesome to see! |
