I often observe man-made satellites reflecting sunlight (iss, shuttle, etc). This was much wider light - about the thickness of a small finger held at arms length.

Remarks
glowing green ribbon that faded fast.
Terminal flash
Observation
Yes
Remarks
There was a rapidly brightening and widening tail (predominantly green). Then became extremely bright and burst into a large green fragment with a splash of white multiple bursts in a cloud around the green fragment. Looked like a fireworks except the white fragments didn't explode in all directions but remained in a cloud around the green core.
Fragmentation
Observation
Yes
Remarks
The multiple fragments continued their downward trajectory, but because I was driving on the freeway I had to return to viewing the roadway, so didn't see the final terminus.
