| Remarks | This object appeared to be a rocket stage coming down sideways, the head of the meteor was oblong. When it caught my eye it was the bright blue green light coming down relatively slowly (thereby the 2-5 seconds observation). At 2 or 3 degrees above the mountains the flame trail appeared about 1 degree in length. I know this could have been far off the coast south of Los Angeles, but it alarmed me, left me wondering if it landed in Los Angeles. I wanted to contact a radio station in LA to see if anyone else observed it - it was spectacular in color. |
