Remarks From my balcony I overlook Southwest over the city to the Bay and Coronado. Having no idea what I was seeing at first I thought it was a shooting star or fireworks. It was near where I see fireworks regularly in the Summer. Also, being a military town, I thought perhaps it was some kind of testing gone wrong. Now a few days later, curious what it was I found this site and figured because it's apparently so rare I should make a record. It first came into my field of vision above the Manchester Hyatt about 20 inches over the city lights. It was a large sparkling ball of white light with a gas tail of white about 5 inches long behind it that grew as it deceded downwards towards Coronado. Just above the Embarcadero it seemingly exploded into blue, bright blue, then had a brilliant green flash and disappeared. Fantastic!!
