Reports Report 1750jl (Event 1750-2016)

Observer
Name Scott R
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I was driving up the highway when I noticed, as if the sky was on a dimmer switch, it was getting brighter and brighter green. Once it got bright enough to cast shadows, I knew to look around for a fireball, since it wasn't in front of me. I looked to the left in time to observe it as it curved down, leaving a long tail and with piece of it breaking away. Because of this, my answers about when it first appears are estimates and my angles may be slightly off. And because I was listening to Bob Dylan at a pretty good volume, I don't know if there was any sound associated.

Remarks As I was driving, I really only caught a short 1 second view of the fireball itself. When I turned and looked I could see a small piece separating from the much larger, brighter piece as the arc of its path curved down.
