Remarks It is hard to report the meteor's relationship to the horizon as it was very dark. Additionally our house is one of the highest on the island so the horizon is very low. My report of where it was in the sky is based on where I had to look standing up to see it. The ball part appeared black in the center with yellow fire around edges. The tail was elongated with yellow fire interspersed with black. I saw it facing almost due west and it appeared to be traveling south to north in a slightly downward trajectory. It was gone before I could even think what it was. By process of elimination I assumed it was a meteor which was confirmed by a friend that night. It was cool to see but I am concerned with where it might have landed and whether or not its impact hurt anyone or their property.
