Reports Report 1882pg (Event 1882-2016)

Observer
Name Nancy F
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks We were driving west from Williams, AZ around 3:45-4 am. Over a second or two, the sky got bright, as if the sun was rising quickly, from total darkness to the level of light approx. 45 min before the sun breaks the horizon. Sky was kind of a weird pinkish orangey yellow, all over. I wasn't thinking much, but thought to myself, "gee, it's like we are back in Phoenix, it's so light out. I didn't realize there was an urban center out here..." Then an extremely bright meteor appeared to our front right, streaking from the northwest over us, I turned my head and watched it disappear over my shoulder, to the southeast. Whole experience was maybe 30 seconds, definitely the longest brightest meteor I've seen, and I lived in national parks for 8 years.
