| Remarks | Heading to start of ironman triathlon, saw the fireball and thought it was a firework, but realised it was moving sub-parallel with the ground at quite a low level and was white light with indistinct blueish and orange tinge, it illuminated the tree canopies close to me and i am pretty sure there was a slight fizzing sound as it passed on my left hand side as I was walking south. It headed south and disappeared in a few seconds, heading roughly North to south . I met two fellow triathlon competitors a couple of minutes later and they asked if I had seen the 'fireball', so more than just my observation. Surprised how low in the sky and relatively slowly it moved i.e., not super fast as I would have expected. |
