Remarks I know you say that it is a once in a lifetime event, but I have seen at least 4 fireballs in this same general area of the sky. This one was the largest, longest, and only one that has fragmented.

Remarks The fireball definitely broke into two pieces right before it "went out." One smaller piece and a larger piece. It was so visible that my 9 year old daughter also saw it and said it split as it was happening.
