| Remarks | Never witnessed anything of the like, definitely a once in a lifetime experience. It was very large, very bright and slow traversing with an impressive train. At first I thought it could be the Chinese Tiangong-1 which was reported to be falling out of the sky any time in the near future or the recent supplies to the ISS a couple of days ago, perhaps left over rockets? The interesting reports in the South Island of New Zealand earlier that night strike a very close resemblance and the accounts are very similar. Look forward to any findings! |

| Remarks | Unsure how to determine the train calculation above however, the train was very long, glowing orange & red, much more red closer to the very bright ball of light. The train looked to have a sparkly effect (like a birthday cake sparkler) closer to the ball of light. The train in length was about quarter of the visible sky from our standing point. It passed over slowly (about 10-15 seconds before we lost it over the houses/horizon) the long tail, a faint orange remained visible for about 5 seconds. There were no real changes, it was consistently glowing as it traversed the sky before we lost sight of it. |
