A welcome surprise! I did witness this from inside my parked car. My window was closed, so I did view this through the glass.
I also got out of the car and took a compass reading from my iPhone.
I used the roofline of the nearby Kmart store as a landmark for the bearing.
Fireball went dark before it went below the horizon.
