I thought the shower itself was nice to watch, but when this little thing came down I exclaimed "whoa" audibly and uncontrollably.

Remarks
Looked like a bright shooting star but definitely brighter than the others and came lower on the horizon than others (during Perseid shower). As it reached 25-30 deg elevation it ended with a small red fireball with a quiet but noticeable pop and seemed to break apart into a few small pieces. Hard to say exactly as it was dark. It kinda freaked me out actually. Looked as if the debris would have landed in the water 200-300 feet from me (I'm watching on a boat), but could've been an optical/perspective illusion.
