When I saw it, it was during a campfire with skits at a Boy Scout summer camp. It was cool to see it and to hear all the scouts oohing and aahing over it.

A quarter of a second before the fireball disappeared, one or two fragments (one was a good portion size of the fireball, the other was extremely small) came off of it towards the ground.
