it did not traverse the horizon but was more like a shooting star going from high to low and more or less straight with a slight left to right angle.

reminded me of fireworks. A single falling light and larger at the bottom with sparkling below just before it disappeared. The sparkling appeared to be a different color than the main tail and fireball, yellowish maybe.
