Reports Report 2925ec (Event 2925-2017)

Observer
Name Joshua D
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks The meteor first appeared as a point with the brightness of Venus, I thought it was a satilite initially. It then increased to the brightness of the half moon rapidly and gained a bright trail and the head became engulfed in a greenish ball of fire. Smoke was visible billowing off of it. It appeared about the size of a streetlight about 20 feet away. As it moved towards the side of my vision I ran and looked due west. It passed by the crescent moon and disappeared behind the tops of the trees 150 feet away on the opposite bank of the canal. It appeared to me to be moving west and slightly to the north and rapidly losing altitude. I expected a bang and for all the windows to blow out around me like happened in Russia in 2013, but it was silent.
