I did not even know fireballs existed prior to this experience but believe that is what I saw based on searching after seeing it. I may not have all the details correct because I was so surprised

It was a smoke trail that persisted for a few seconds - I am not sure exactly how long it was. I did not see any changes that occurred over time, it just faded away

I was looking down when I saw a blue light that was so bright I thought my neighbors had turned on a bright blue light. I looked up to see the fireball and then I saw the smoke trail. I don’t believe there was any fragmentation
