I live on the 18th floor of a tower block and we have large windows. It was dark. By chance I looked out and saw the fireball and trail for a few seconds travelling in a north easterly direction.I use plane finder as we are on the flight path into Heathrow about 15 miles away and I believe the fireball was at a similar altitude as the planes are when they pass over us roughly 300 feet.
