About Peter Detterline

My love for the night sky began at age 6 with the Perseid meteor shower. Since that time I've become an avid amateur astronomer, planetarium director and college professor teaching astronomy. I have my own observatory, have traveled around the world for various astronomical events, and contribute to astronomical research. I am currently working on a robotic observatory at the Mars Desert Research Station which will be used remotely by crews at the station as well as students around the world.
