About Barry Simmons

I’m a beginner to this type of photography and am enjoying it. After years of picture taking with “Point ‘n’ Shoot” cameras, in Nov 2012 we purchased a Nikon DSLR preparing for a trip to Tromso, Norway to see and photograph the Aurora (succeeded). Everything I read said you couldn’t do it with a non-DSLR. After a lot of internet reading and practice I got the hang of it and really got to like night photography. Starting in Mar 2013 with the Pan Starr Comet, I now (when I can), go out and shoot Meteor, Comet and Moon events. I also enjoy Sunsets, Thunderstorms, and Nature in General. Next I plan do some night city scrapes in HDR.
