Geminids Meteor Shower over Horseshoe Bend, Arizona, USA
Three friends and I shot pictures of Geminids Meteor Shower in the yard of an Airbnb hotel 11 miles south of Page, Arizona on the nights of December 13 and 14, 2018. I used three camera to shoot 4,000 pictures and captured meteors in 270 pictures. On the early morning of December 13, we went to Horseshoe Bend to shoot winter Milky Way over Horseshoe Bend with the radiant point Gemini above the Milky Way and Horseshoe Bend. I used Canon 6D Mark II camera and Rokinon 14 mm f/2.8 lens, with ISO 6400 for all pictures, 20 seconds exposure for meteor picture and 30 seconds exposure for foreground picture. The meteor pictures were taken from 11:53 PM 12/13/2018 through 04:47 AM 12/14/2018 MST. I only blend some of them into this final image in Photoshop CC. At the peak time of 2 AM 12/14/2018 MST, there were more than 130 meteors per hour. I saw six meteors falling from sky within 10 seconds!
